Schisandra Berry ELIXIR (stress management and resiliency)

Schisandra Berry (Schisandra chinensis) is called the five-flavored berry because it contains all five flavors: salty, sweet, sour, pungent, and bitter.

Schisandra is considered an adaptogenic herb. It helps us adapt to stress and become more resilient in the face of life's daily ups and downs. It is important to take the same adaptogen for several weeks in order to truly assess how it is assisting your body (this is not something you'd take for two days and then stop). Schisandra wants to be a part of your daily life.

Schisandra traditionally has also been used for fatigue and insomnia which makes sense. If your hormonal system and ability to cope with stress is tuned to a higher level of resiliency, then you will be sleeping and resting better as well. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shisandra nourishes Jing which is the essence that is bestowed upon you at the moment of conception from both your mother and your father. You can´t get more Jing during your lifetime; you have what you have. However, you can nourish your Jing and have daily life practices, foods and herbs like Schisandra that keep you from using up your Jing in an unsustainable way.

Suggested use and dosage:

The Schisandra elixir is meant to be taken daily, with or without food. I prefer to take it in the morning as part of my morning routine.

Take 1 - 4 dropperfuls per day as needed (that is between 25 - 100 drops).

(One dropperful is about 25 drops and fills up around half of the pipette of your tincture bottle).

You can take it right into the mouth; the presence of honey in elixirs makes them gentler medicines to take straight into the mouth (versus regular tinctures). Alternatively you could also put a dropperful in a small amount of water and drink that.

Thank you to Schisandra for your beautiful medicine. I am strong and vibrant. You´ve reminded me that that was always true.
